ABOUT ZEITGEIST

Willie Geist has maintained since 1996 that the Internet, like the automobile and the television before it, is a fad. He gets his information from microfiche at the public library and communicates with friends through the good old-fashioned United States Postal Service, thank you very much.

So then why is he blogging? Two words: community service. After an ugly incident at his weekly Sudoku game, Willie was sentenced to speak to young people about anger management. He heard that "young people" looked at the Internet, so the blog became his punishment. It's Willie's way of giving back.

In Zeitgeist, you'll find the kind of expert analysis of news and pop culture that has made Willie one of the most beloved figures in American life today (you can look it up). You'll also get raw, behind-the-scenes footage from MSNBC. You'll even get to talk back to Willie. So give the blog a try and catch the Internet fad before it's gone for good.

Michael Vick: Puppet of the Iranian regime?

It turns out dogfighting might be just the tip of the iceberg for Michael Vick. A $63 billion (yes, with a "B") lawsuit brought this week by a South Carolina prison inmate claims Vick stole the man's dogs and sold them on eBay to raise funds to buy missiles from Iran. Did you follow that? The complaint says Vick needed the missiles because he has pledged his allegiance to al Qaida. Seems like we would have heard that on "SportsCenter" or something.

As you read today's "ZeitGeist Story of the Day," tell me which of this guy's previous lawsuits you like the best. I'm going back and forth between his suit against Tony Danza and the one against The Ming Dynasty (kind of tough to collect on that one at this point).

I like the one on the Ming dynasty.  Mike should be able to beat the system.  Even a cave man could do it.
Buddy Lembeck is that you??....15 years later you appear to be doing okay in 2007....keep up the intriguing work and leave Tony Danza alone.  You know he used to play for the St. Louis Cardinals right?....He was used primarily as a late inning substitution/pinch runner.....

Angela Bower was weaksauce.....
Now Mona, thats a whole different story.....
I think this complaint was filed earlier than this week.  I received it via a forwarded email nearly three weeks ago.  Check your facts, or else I just saw a pre-filing draft...
Are you dumb or just plain stupid?
ARE YOU DUMB OR JUST PALIN STUPID???
Michael Vick would look good in a turban..
This is nonsense, I think we have more important issues like War and healthcare.
Certainly one of the more intelligent stories the media has presented us with in the last few years.
Well, there's thirty seconds of my life I'll never get back...Hey Willie, NYYankees stink.
Ahhhh, everything makes sense now. I knew there was a piece of the puzzle missing.
Actually, the number is slightly higher.

"An offbeat South Carolina prison inmate has filed a handwritten lawsuit seeking $63 quintillion from Michael Vick.

That's $63,000,000,000,000,000,000.

Or as Jonathan Lee Riches put it in his handwritten lawsuit, "$63,000,000,000 billion." The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court in Richmond on July 23."

This inmate must be out of his ever-loving mind. Only an idiot would think up something this stupid just to get his name in the local paper. He must be getting close to parole and he needs the money to pay for a new brain transplant along with getting a reality check.
I believe it was $63 quintillion (or $63 billion billion).
If Michael Vick agrees to ink a plea deal will he be offered or hold out for a signing bonus?
I BELIEVE HIM. LOL!
I am shocked and upset that Skittles have become a part of this awful battle. I feel let down that the candy I so love and cherish has been thrust to the forefront of thi matter. If I wore their underwear, I would be defending Fruit of the Loom as well. I  would say at this point, however that Plato will be a key witness...no wait I think he might be dead. Mr. Geist, tank you for informing the wrld about this. Stay safe in your adventures, and please be sure that this SC inmate shares some of that ca-trillian dollars with you!!

I know he is guilty and probably of more than we know. His fame and $$$$$$$$$ will allow him to be treated differently than you or i would be. Give him the same treatment he gave the dogs.
This has got to be one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard of. Hardly newsworthy, in my humble opinion.

The whole thing is so blantly made-up, I'm surprised a judge hasn't thrown it out yet.
WHAT? Vick dosent even know that we are at war.
He thinks 9/11 is the universal emergency phone number. Remember, he dropped in and out of V Tech.
Political ideaology? Vick?
Johhny Reeferseed? and who is a guy named Michael Jackson calling stupid.  I really think I would have to change my name.
this is why convicts need to be out breaking rocks and cleaning roads. Instead of us paying for them to get law degrees and sue us when they get out.
Take them back to the rock pile and take the ACLU with them..
Has anyone seen my dog?

BTW Vick use to live next to a friend of mines house, and yes, he had 2 pitbulls there.

Stopped me from "accidentally" throwing a football in his lawn and retrieving it, only to notice I had a marker in my sock and asking for an autograph.
I am sure that President Bush or Tony Snow will use this next week to persuade us all to keep up the fight in IRAQ.
Hey, the government system is so screwed up, this guy just might get the $63B.  Someone just might start up a Charity for him and keep 90% for fees.  Lucky we Live America!!
I'm definitely going with "WKRP in Cincinnati".  If he wins, maybe that will give support to my case against "Three's Company" and "One Day at a Time".
Dear Will:

You crack me up.  I laughed so hard, I developed a hernia.  I've contacted my attorneys and consulted with Mr. Rich, who says I have a case, for, you guessed it, $63,000,000,000 billion.  My process server should be at your doorstep now.  See ya in court.
If u guys don't stop with the caveman remarks, I'm gonna club u to death.
Was Michael Jackson calling you stupid...that really takes the glove.
RE:  Vick & Partners in crime - Might I suggest you place Vick & his partners in crime individually in a locked cage with 10 pitbulls and allow the animal kingdom to take care of each one of them.  Anything less than that is not justice - it's payoff time and they have the money to do just that, lest we forget political bull.  Now, I see they might allow him back in the NFL - are they really this stupid or do they just act that way?  Out-a-here like the baseball.  I am an avid animal lover and I truly believe it is a horendous crime and should get the maximum penalty - pitbulls in a locked cage!!!  He is telling lies again - he is responsible for God's creatures and they will pay big-time. The guilty ones are abominations to the Good Lord anyway. Where the hell do they get off at thinking people would allow them to get away with it?  How long has this been going on?  Remember, pitbulls in a locked cage.
