ABOUT ZEITGEIST

Willie Geist has maintained since 1996 that the Internet, like the automobile and the television before it, is a fad. He gets his information from microfiche at the public library and communicates with friends through the good old-fashioned United States Postal Service, thank you very much.

So then why is he blogging? Two words: community service. After an ugly incident at his weekly Sudoku game, Willie was sentenced to speak to young people about anger management. He heard that "young people" looked at the Internet, so the blog became his punishment. It's Willie's way of giving back.

In Zeitgeist, you'll find the kind of expert analysis of news and pop culture that has made Willie one of the most beloved figures in American life today (you can look it up). You'll also get raw, behind-the-scenes footage from MSNBC. You'll even get to talk back to Willie. So give the blog a try and catch the Internet fad before it's gone for good.

I am a blond and I work with your sterotypical "dumb" blond.  She gives me all the incentive I need to educate myself and prove to those people who sterotype that all blonds are NOT dumb.  I used to color my hair red because I didn't want to be catagorized with those that are like this other woman.  I have since let my hair grow out and am once again my natural color of blond.  I have in my life met more people that were dark haired and dumber than most blonds I know, with the exception of this one woman.  She is not just dumb, she is stupid.  So much so that it is quite annoying. The origin of this myth is quite curious.  Maybe the men who fell for these blond bombshells of old are the ones who were actually dumb.  It seems those women got over on those men so they couldn't have been to terribly dumb.
If this wasn't so "dumb" I might be angry.  As a natural blonde with a brain, I pose a simple question.  How many redheads and brunettes color their hair?  A second simple question.  What is the most common color to dye one's hair?  Seems to me we have a whole lot of stupid redheads and brunettes.  Sheesh.
Blondes act dumb! ( though they may not really be dumb)....so they are perceived as being dumb. How 'dumb'!
It makes sense to me that blondes tend to be less intelligent. Blonde hair is beautiful to men and will influence the development of women. An ugly girl will definitely need to acquire skills beyond beauty, but there are plenty of women today who have only developed social skills and know pop culture and how to be socially acceptable and to lure men. Ugly girls will not enjoy parties as much and will tend to have more time for homework. Superficial men want nothing more than beauty and are willing to put up with stupidity and other failings for a smokin' hot lady. They will let her sit at home and watch tv or spend money or whatever, she is enabled to stagnat. She won't have to be employed or educated. Don't dimish the emotional intelligence though. They excell in what they are good at. Everyone does this. Obviously prejudging a woman by her haircolor is nothing more complex than discrimination, but I can see how this could be a real trend.
Blonde hair has little to do with ones intelligence. Rather, it is the typical attention seeking insecure females with little else to offer who create this notion.
Blonds aren't dumb. They are just too self centered so it looks like they are. People color their hair because they don't like how they look. Simple as that.
the funny thing is that paris hilton, pam anderson and hilary clinton are all brunettes who bleach their hair.
Many of the blondes you see were NOT born blondes; they color their hair to BECOME a blonde.  This makes the stereotype untrue & unfair; they are really brunettes & redheads.  And to all the blondes, true or bleached, stop playing the dumb blonde role, so the rest of us aren't categorized as such.  The Pam Anderson's, Marilyn Monroe's, Anna Nicole's, etc. of the world play their parts very well & make lots of money, but they also perpetuate the stereotype.  I wonder if any of them were/are true blondes? Anyone out there know for sure.
